Here are my college volleyball Power 10 rankings for Week 10.
1. Pitt (Prev. 1)
Pitt and Nebraska will remain at Nos. 1 and 2 for me. Some might argue that Nebraska could take the top spot after a sweep over Wisconsin, but I think Pitt earned its way up to No. 1 and doesn't deserve to be moved out of that top spot.
2. Nebraska (Prev. 2)
The Huskers stay put at No. 2, off of that statement sweep vs. Wisconsin. They looked so impressive as they held the Badgers to under .100 hitting. The defense was phenomenal in the backcourt and at the net.
3. Penn State (Prev. 3)
Penn State also holds steady at No. 3. The Nittany Lions have a matchup against Wisconsin this week and still a few more ranked matches in November.
4. Louisville (Prev. 4)
Louisville also stays put after two sweeps last week over Notre Dame.
5. Creighton (Prev. 6)
Okay, now for some changes. Stanford was upset by Miami (Fla.) last week, so welcome Creighton to the top 5. The Bluejays have swept their last nine opponents as they continue to cruise through the Big East.
6. Kansas (Prev. 8)
I also have Kansas up a spot over Stanford for now, still with just one loss on the entire year. They have a huge matchup on the schedule this week against Arizona State. I cannot wait to see that one.
7. Stanford (Prev. 5)
Stanford falls to No. 7 with the loss to Miami. The Hurricanes are a pretty good team that now has two top-5 wins this season, so the Cardinal only drop two spots.
8. Wisconsin (Prev. 7)
Wisconsin drops a spot to No. 8 after getting swept by Nebraska, the No. 2 team in the country, at home.
9. SMU (Prev. 10)
SMU remains in my top 10 at No. 9. The Mustangs are through the bulk of their ACC schedule now and this feels like a fair spot with their big wins but also a handful of losses.
10. Arizona State (Prev. NR)
Arizona State joins the party at No. 10. The Sun Devils enter these rankings for the first time this season with a 22-2 record and two top-25 wins last week over BYU and Utah. This team has been underrated all season and now they enter the top 10 just in time to set up a top-10 battle with Kansas this week in the Big 12.
The Sun Devils replace Texas (No. 9 in last week's Power 10) after the Longhorns dropped their third-straight match, all in five sets.
