Gonzaga earns Week 16 NCAA women's basketball team of the week honors

The latest victory for Gonzaga came on Saturday at Pacific, 91-78, as senior forward Yvonne Ejim scored 13 of her season-high 28 points in the decisive third quarter. Kaylynne Truong made five 3-pointers and scored 15 points for the Bulldogs (26-2, 13-0), who are one win shy of the program's longest winning streak of 21 straight. Kayleigh Truong and Eliza Hollingsworth both added 12 points and Brynna Maxwell had 10. Ejim and Hollingsworth both had nine rebounds, Kayleigh Truong had 10 assists and Maxwell had a 3-pointer, giving her at least one in every game this season The Bulldogs, who set program records of 19 3-pointers and a 65-point margin of victory (104-39) over Pacific in the first meeting at home on Feb. 3, were 13 of 30 from distance on Saturday and shot 52 percent overall (33 of 64) in their closest conference game of the season.

Earlier in the week on Feb. 15 at Saint Mary’s, Maxwell and Kaylynne Truong scored 20 points apiece to lead Gonzaga to a 96-68 win over the Gaels. Ejim, who missed the previous two games while competing for Team Canada in an Olympic qualifying tournament, returned to post a 10-point, 10-rebound double-double. The Bulldogs came in averaging over 81 points per game and blew by that total on its way to the 28-point win.

Ranked 16th in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll, Gonzaga’s 20-game winning streak is currently tied for the second-longest in the country behind South Carolina (25) and tied with Fairfield (20). The Bulldogs will return home to play San Francisco on Feb. 22.
