No. 6 Kentucky gets rolled by South Carolina, Texas upsets No. 11 Oklahoma on Tuesday night

AP poll breakdown: Andy Katz Q&A, reactions to Jan. 22 college basketball rankings

A pair of upsets highlight Tuesday night's men's basketball slate.

Here's a look at how it all went down.

Gamecocks too much for No. 6 Wildcats

South Carolina Gamecocks guard Zachary Davis (12) celebrates a play against the Kentucky Wildcats in the first half at Colonial Life Arena.

South Carolina enjoys playing at home so far, boasting a 10-1 record inside Colonial Life Arena this season.

The Gamecocks rode that home crowd to a 79-62 win over Kentucky, handing the No. 6 Wildcats their fourth loss of the season. The 17-point loss is the largest margin of defeat Kentucky has suffered this season, and the biggest deficit since losing to Alabama in Jan. 2023 by 26.

The biggest difference maker in this game came beyond the arch. South Carolina hit 10 three-pointers while Kentucky only managed to sink three of its 11 attempts from downtown.

Guards, Ta'lon Cooper, Meechie Johnson and Jacobi Wright combined for seven of those three-pointers, so it should come as little surprise the trio led the squad in scoring. Cooper finished with 20 points, six rebounds and five assists. Johnson put up 14 points, two boards and dished five assists while Wright scored 14 points and managed two rebounds and an assist.

Kentucky has now dropped two of its last four games, both losses coming on the road. Another road test lies ahead for the Wildcats (14-4) this Saturday when they travel to Arkansas.

South Carolina (16-3) will be back at home on Saturday when it faces Missouri.

Texas sinks No. 11 Oklahoma

Texas men's basketball forward Dylan Disu Forward Dylan Disu finished with a double-double on 19 points and 10 rebounds.

The Sooners got the best of the Longhorns on the gridiron, but it was a different story on the hardwood court.

Texas took down No. 11 Oklahoma, 75-60, on Tuesday β€” handing the Sooners their fourth loss of the season. It's Oklahoma's third loss in its last five games, all coming in Big 12 play.

The Longhorns dominated the night, holding the lead for 30 of the game's 40 minutes. The Sooners did win the turnover margin, and scored more points off turnovers, fast break points and points in the paint. But Oklahoma shot just 39% from the field and an abysmal 21% beyond the arch.

Texas was able to keep the game out of reach by pulling down 32 defensive rebounds and limiting Oklahoma to just two second-chance points.

Guard Max Abmas led the Longhorns in scoring with 22 points and went 4-of-8 from downtown. Forward Dylan Disu finished with a double-double on 19 points and 10 rebounds.

These rivals will meet again on March 9 to conclude the regular season. It will mark their final meeting as Big 12 foes before they join the SEC later this year.

Before that, Texas (15-5) travels to No. 21 BYU on Saturday, going for its third straight win over a ranked opponent. Oklahoma (15-4) hosts No. 20 Texas Tech that same day.
