Down one and missing the final free throw of the game with less than four seconds left on the clock usually means the game is over. That was the case for Mike Saunders Jr. and McNeese, but not the way you think.
Not to mention that the Cowboys were down 18 points earlier in the half.
After Saunders Jr. missed the potentially game-tying trip to the free-throw line, pure chaos erupted. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi failed to secure the rebound, which ended with an easy layup for McNeese's Antavion Collum β a shot that also missed. But alas, Christian Shumate was there for the Cowboys for the buzzer-beating put back to secure the stunning 62-61 win.
