Here are my Week 11 Power 10 volleyball rankings.
1. Pitt (Prev.1)
It's another week of Pitt and Nebraska up top. I think these two teams are just on a different level. I could make arguments for either of them at No. 1, but again, I see no reason to move Pitt out after it worked its way up there.
2. Nebraska (Prev. 2)
Nebraska was SO good on the road with sweeps over Oregon and Washington. Harper Murray led the way offensively in both wins. She had 14 kills and 10 digs hitting .414 in the win over the Ducks.
3. Penn State (Prev. 3)
Now here is where I think we will have some robust discussion in the comments. Penn State was swept, pretty badly by Wisconsin last week. That moves the Nittany Lions to 23-2 on the season. Usually this would warrant a drop, but they still have a convincing sweep over Louisville head to head below them, and one less loss than the Cardinals. There are still notable matchups on PSU’s schedule the rest of the way, including Purdue and Nebraska, so I am not moving the Nittany Lions just yet with only two losses on the season.
4., 5. & 6. Louisville, Creighton & Stanford (Prev. 4, 5 & 7)
The Cardinals swept Louisville and Boston College last week, Creighton is still perfect in the Big East and Stanford picked up a big sweep over Georgia Tech. Ipar Kurt hit a career-high .833 with 10 kills in that match for the Cardinal.
7. Wisconsin (Prev. 8)
Wisconsin moves one spot up to No. 7 after that huge sweep over Penn State. The Badgers hit .465 as a team and out blocked PSU 11-0. It was just a dominant outing.
No. 8 SMU (Prev. 9)
SMU is at 8 after picking up another ranked win over UNC last week behind 16 kills from Jams Wheeler.
No. 9 Arizona State (Prev. 10)
Arizona State stays in the top 10 and moves up a spot after taking down Kansas in Big 12 play. I've been waiting for that matchup, and the Sun Devils proved themselves. Claire Jeter finished with 10 kills and seven blocks in the win.
10. Purdue (Prev. NR)
Finally at the No. 10 spot, I was completely torn between Purdue and Oregon, as they have very similar resumes. They play each other in a couple of weeks, so that'll settle that battle. But for now I'm giving the slight edge to Purdue.
