No. 9 BYU
Record: 8-0 (5-0 Big 12)
Last game: Defeated UCF, 37-24
Last undefeated season: 1984 (13-0, won national championship)
After a rough first season in the Big 12, the Cougars have already surpassed their conference win total from 2023. They have two ranked wins under their belt in Kansas State and SMU, and Kalani Sitake's squad squeezed out a thriller against Oklahoma State in Week 8. The Cougars defended their perfect record at UCF for a Week 9 win. BYU will hit the road again to play at Utah on Nov. 9.

No. 21 Army

Last game: Defeated Air Force, 20-3
Last undefeated season: 1958 (8-0-1)
Army holds the longest win streak in FBS football at 12. Based on its first eight games, Army should be cruising until Nov. 23 against Notre Dame. The Irish have proven beatable, and if the Black Knights can pull it off, we could be discussing Army in the 12-team playoff come late November.
