College football award finalists announced

The regular season for college football has officially ended, the best players in the country at their respective positions have separated themselves from their peers, not just with their on-field play but now with name recognition.

Here are the finalists, listed alphabetically by the name of each award.

Bednarik Award

The Chuck Bednarik Award is given to the "outstanding defensive player of the year" in college football. The winner will be announced on Dec. 7 at the ESPN College Football Awards Show. Voting opens Nov. 21 and ends Dec. 3.

Biletnikoff Award

The Fred Biletnikoff Award is given to the "outstanding college football receiver regardless of position." The winner will be announced on Dec. 7 at the ESPN College Football Awards Show. The final vote will take place between Nov. 30 and Dec. 4.

The Coach of the Year went to Scott Frost for his season with UCF.

George Munger Award

The George Munger Award is given to the college coach of the year. Semifinalists were named on Nov. 16 and finalist voting will take place between Dec. 12 and Dec. 26. The winner will be announced Dec. 27.
