Army-Navy Game: Full recap of Army's 21-17 victory

  Army ended a 14-year losing streak against the Midshipmen.

For the first time since 2001, Army has gotten the victory in its annual showdown with Navy.

Preview: The 117th meeting between Army and Navy has the teams meeting in Baltimore for just the seventh time in the rivalries’ history. At 6-5, Army enters with a winning record for the first time since 2010 and looks to end Navy’s 14-year run of victories. The No. 25 Midshipmen are headed for the Armed Forces Bowl after a 9-3 season after losing to Temple in the American Athletic Conference title game last week. 

Players to watch

  • Army running back Andy Davidson leads the team with 818 yards rushing and nine touchdowns on 150 attempts.
  • Navy wide receiver Jamir Tillman has caught 35 of the team’s 80 completions and has 582 receiving yards and two touchdowns on the year.

  • Army ranks second in the FBS at 328.5 rushing yards per game, while Navy ranks third at 327.5.
  • The Midshipmen lead the all-time series 60-49-7.
  • Not including quarterback Will Worth, Navy has four rushers with at least 400 yards this season.
  • Army is allowing an average of 289 yards per game, ranking fifth in the FBS.
  • The last two meetings have been decided by a touchdown or less.

Injuries

  • Worth, who has 25 rushing touchdowns and all eight of the team’s touchdown passes, is out for the rest of the season because of an ankle injury.
  • Navy cornerback Elijah Merchant is questionable with a concussion.
