For the first time this season, we have a new No. 1 college baseball team in the nation. Wake Forest lost the series to Duke in the most anticipated matchup of the weekend.
Here are my full Week 4 college baseball Power 10 rankings:
1. Arkansas | LW: 2
I moved Arkansas into the top spot. The Razorbacks swept McNeese over the weekend and are third in the nation in ERA. Hagen Smith leads the country in strikeouts per nine innings.
2. LSU | LW: 3
The Tigers won the series against Xavier, as Luke Holman kept up his 0.00 ERA. He didn't allow a hit over six scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts in a 97-pitch outing.
3. Oregon State | LW 6
Oregon State won another four games over the weekend and has just one loss on the year — to Arkansas — so I moved the Beavers up, with TCU and Florida falling.
4. Texas A&M | LW: 7
The Aggies are still undefeated, and 16-0 is tough to do no matter who you play in baseball. Texas A&M won a close one against Rhode Island on Sunday in walk-off fashion.
5. Tennessee | LW: 8
Tennessee exploded for a 24-1 win over Illinois this past week. The Vols offense continues to show up. They also had a 15-5 win over Kansas State, which included six home runs. Freshman Dean Curley hit three of those homers to almost complete a HR cycle.
6. Duke | LW: NR
Hello, Duke. The Blue Devils made a huge jump after the big series win over previously No. 1 Wake Forest. I don’t think there are any question marks when it comes to this offense after they got the best of one of the strongest weekend rotations in the country in two out of three games. Ben Miller, AJ Garcia and Zac Morris were hot at the plate. This offense can go toe-to-toe with anyone in the country.
7. Wake Forest | LW: 1
This does seem like a big drop, since Duke is an incredible team with a really potent offense. The hyped-up pitchers' duel on Friday turned into an offensive show. Chase Burns did show out on Saturday, fanning a career-high 14 of the 22 batters he faced. But the Deacs lost again on Sunday, falling behind 9-2 early in a 10-8 defeat. It's just hard to put them above Duke and other undefeated or one-loss teams.
8. Florida | LW: 5
Florida takes another tumble. The Gators lost a mid-week game to UCF and dropped one game of their series with Saint Mary’s. The Gators move to 10-5 on the season, so some might say they should drop even further, but we will see soon enough with SEC play about to start. They face Texas A&M next weekend and then LSU soon after.
9. Vanderbilt | LW: 9
Vandy stays in and holds its place here after it swept Illinois State over the weekend.10. Clemson | LW: 10
Clemson remains at No. 10 after the Tigers moved to 13-1 with a mid-week win over Kansas State and a weekend sweep over UNC Greensboro.
Dropped out: TCU
