4 Golden Spikes Award finalists announced

Golden Spikes Award finalists revealed

USA Baseball announced its Golden Spikes Award finalists on Wednesday.

The list was narrowed from 25 to four and includes Auburn’s Casey Mize and Florida’s Brady Singer, two of the nation's top pitchers.

California slugger Andrew Vaughn also makes the list after enjoying a stellar season, leading the Golden Bears in batting average (.403), home runs (23) and RBIs (63). Texas infielder Kody Clemens rounds out the four – he's hit 21 homers and drove in 68 runs this season.

The finalists are made up of three juniors and one sophomore. Mize, Singer and Clemens are still competing in the Division I baseball tournament.

The winner of the 2018 Golden Spikes Award will be announced on June 28 in Los Angeles.
