ST. LOUIS -- St. Cloud State wrestling team finished the first day of action in first place at the 2015 NCAA Division II championships on Friday, March 13 at the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Mo.
The Huskies stand in first place after the end of the first day with 47.0 team points, while Nebraska Kearney is in second place with 44.5 points. The remainder of the top five in the tournament includes Maryville (Mo.) with 42.5 points, Mercyhurst with 40.0 points and Ouachita Baptist with 33.5 points.All six of SCSU wrestler will advance to action on Saturday, which also means all six SCSU wrestlers will bring home All-America honors in 2015. Tim Prescott (125), Clint Poster (157), Gabe Fogarty (165) and Austin Goergen (285) have all advanced in the winner's bracket and will wrestle in the tournament semi-finals on Saturday. SCSU's Mike Rhone (133) and Larry Bomstad (149) lost their first round matches but have advanced through two rounds in the consolation bracket.
