After a runner-up finish in the 2024 Women's College World Series, Texas softball is No. 1 entering the 2025 season in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 Poll, released Tuesday, Jan. 21.
Florida, coming off a WCWS semifinals appearance, slots in at No. 2 in the rankings, followed by four-time defending national champion Oklahoma at No. 3. This marks the first time the Sooners are not ranked No. 1 in the preseason poll since 2021, when they started with a No. 4 ranking.
Oklahoma State and Tennessee round out the preseason top 5.
