NCAA fencing championship history

Notre Dame completed the three-peat in 2023, and now the Fighting Irish look to become the first school to win at least four consecutive fencing national championships since Penn State won six from 1995 to 2000.

Notre Dame may have won the most recent title, but Penn State has the most fencing championships with 13 since 1990. The Nittany Lions haven't won since 2014, though. The Fighting Irish have won the past three titles and five since 2017 (the 2020 championships were canceled because of the Covid-19 pandemic).
