We have a new No. 1 team in the country in my Week 9 Power 10 college baseball rankings.
1. Texas A&M (3)
Texas A&M takes over the top spot sitting at 32-4 on the season with an absolutely dominant sweep against Vanderbilt over the weekend. Ryan Prager threw a complete-game shutout as the Aggies run-ruled the Dores on Friday night, 15-0. They followed it up with another shutout on Saturday. The Aggies now have a nation-leading eight shutouts on the season.
2. Arkansas (1)
Arkansas drops to No. 2 after dropping its first series to Alabama. The Razorbacks won their series opener with Hagen Smith on the bump, but then lost the next two, including a close loss in extra innings on Saturday after tying it up in the ninth.
3. Tennessee (4)
Tennessee moves up to No. 3, improving to 30-6 with a huge sweep over LSU. Billy Amick was back in the lineup for the Vols and immediately contributed with a two-run homer on Friday.
4. Kentucky (9)
It's an all-SEC top 4 right now as Kentucky joins the fold, rightfully so. The Wildcats are now 30-5 on the season and 14-1 in the SEC after back-to-back sweeps over Alabama last week and Auburn this week. Alabama's a squad that both Arkansas and Tennessee lost a series to this year. However, the Wildcats lost on Tuesday to Samford, before that Auburn series, and sit just below the Vols, who they will face this weekend.
5. Oregon State (5)
Oregon State stays in the top 5. The Beavers took two of three from Stanford with a shutout win in the series opener, powered by a great outing from Aiden May. They dropped the last game of the series by one run despite a great offensive performance.
6. Clemson (2)
Clemson takes a drop to No. 6 after notching a mid-week loss and dropping the weekend series to NC State. The Tigers responded on Sunday with a 7-0 win over the Wolfpack to salvage a game during the series. Aidan Knaak pitched eight scoreless innings of two-hit ball with 10 strikeouts in the finale for the win.
7. Florida State (NR)
Florida State jumps back into the top 10 at No. 7. It was an impressive week with yet another win over Florida mid-week followed by a huge sweep against Miami over the weekend. The Seminoles are 30-5, but still stand behind Clemson, since they were swept head to head.
8. Virginia (8)
The last three spots feel pretty interchangeable. Virginia has been holding steady around here in my Power 10 over the last few weeks, and the Cavaliers just won another ACC series against Louisville.
9. East Carolina (10)
ECU moves up a spot after it won its series against Charlotte and went 4-1 on the week.
10. Duke (7)
One could argue for the Blue Devils to be a little higher, but I dropped them three spots because they lost a mid-week game to William & Mary before winning two of three over the weekend to Pitt.
