Northeastern, Boston University to meet in Women's Beanpot final
🏅 Northeastern vs. Boston College sets Beanpot campus attendance record
Matthews Arena was packed for the Women's Beanpot semifinal between No. 15 Northeastern and No. 12 Boston College. In what could be the arena's last Beanpot game, 3,298 fans filled the historic arena.
The game set a record for the largest crowd at a campus site in Beanpot history and the largest crowd at a NU women's hockey game ever. The record-setting night could be a farewell to the historic arena — which opened in 1910 — with talks about the university replacing Matthews with a new facility soon.
But for now, this game serves both as a reminder of the Beanpot's long history and as proof of the growth of women's hockey at the collegiate level and beyond.
Had to be at Matthews 🤯

🐾 Northeastern beats BC 4-2, advances to Beanpot final
Despite a late third period push from the Eagles, No. 15 Northeastern held on to beat No. 12 Boston College 4-2 and advance to the Women's Beanpot final.
Northeastern came out HOT. Three quick goals in the first period gave the Huskies an early lead, and they never looked back.
Boston College netted one late in the first period, but they just couldn't solve Lisa Jönsson for the rest of the game. Lily Shannon added a shorthaned tally late in the second period to make it 4-1 Huskies.
A late Gaby Roy tally with the extra attacker made it 4-2, but it was too little, too late for the Eagles.

The Terriers dominated the entire game, outshooting Harvard 41-10, but they just couldn't find an answer for Harvard goalie Ainsley Tuffy.
That was until RW Sydney Healey found the puck on her stick on the backdoor, and tied the game with 55 seconds left in regulation.
Then in overtime, LW Lindsay Bochna ripped a short-side shot over Tuffy's blocker to score the game winner in her first Beanpot game to complete the comeback and to send the Terriers to the championship game.
