Boston University beats Boston College to win 2025 Beanpot title

🏆 No. 9 Boston U. defeats No. 1 Boston College in 2025 Beanpot final

No. 9 Boston University is the 2025 Beanpot champion. The Terriers defeat No. 1 Boston College to win their 32nd Beanpot championship in program history, and their first since 2022.

The Terriers and the Eagles put on a show on Boston's biggest stage, combining for 88 shots. Boston College opened the scoring with a beauty from Gabe Perreault, but BU owned the game from that point on. The Terriers scored four unanswered goals, and Mikhail Yegorov stopped 43 of 44 shots on their way to the win. Four different goal scorers found the back of the net for BU: McCarthy, C. Hutson, Eiserman and Svoboda.

The Eberly award for the goaltender with the highest SV% was given to Mikhail Yegorov, who stopped 69/71 shots in two starts, good for a .972 SV% in his first Beanpot. Yegorov continues his impressive start to his collegiate career with a statement win over the No. 1 team in the country.

The MVP award was given to Cole Huston, who finished the tournament with two assists and three goals, including the championship game-winner.

Freshman Cole Eiserman knocks it out of midair and slides it under Fowler's pad to put the Terriers up by two goals late in the third period. BU is just six minutes away from its 32nd Beanpot championship in program history.

Boston University came out HOT in the second period, outshooting BC 21-16 in the second frame. The Terriers dominated the early part of the period, scoring back-to-back goals in just 1:11 to take the lead.

But the Eagles wouldn't go down easy, coming back with plenty of chances of their own in the late minutes of the period. Both goaltenders made some key stops in an action-packed second period, including several breakaway chances for each side. Boston College will have 1:10 left on a powerplay when the third period starts as the Eagles try to tie this one up at the Garden.

It was all Boston College for most of the first period, with the Eagles outshooting Boston University 16-9. Ryan Leonard and Gabe Perreault showed why they are one of the most dominant duos in college hockey this season, combining for the game's first tally about seven minutes in:

The Eagles had a few more chances shortly after the Perreault goal, but Yegorov stood tall in net for BU. The Terriers evened out the action in the later minutes of the period, getting some solid scoring chances of their own, but Jacob Fowler stopped all of the Terriers' shots, keeping BC out in front 1-0 after 20 minutes.

No. 1 Boston College is set to face off against its cross-town rival, No. 9 Boston University in the 298th edition of the battle of Commonwealth Ave. The last time these two teams met in the Beanpot final was in 2016, when Alex Tuch scored the lone goal in a 1-0 overtime win to propel Boston College to its 20th Beanpot championship.

A top-10 matchup is on the books tonight, and this one is for all the beans.

🥉 Harvard hangs on, wins Beanpot consolation game | Harvard 4, NU 3

Harvard held Northeastern to just seven shots in the third period to thwart the Huskies' comeback effort. Northeastern threatened to score in the final minute on the powerplay with an extra attacker, but Charette and the Crimson stood tall to hold on and win the 2025 Beanpot consolation game 4-3.

Harvard finishes the game with four powerplay goals, two of which came from Mason Langenbrunner. Northeastern outshot Harvard 26-19, but Ben Charette made 23 saves enroute to his first Beanpot win.
