The 2025 NCAA softball bracket is here. Let’s break it down.
The top 16 seeds host a regional, and the top eight seeds — if they advance — get to host through super regionals. Texas A&M picked up the No. 1 overall seed, followed by Oklahoma at No. 2, No. 3 Florida, No. 4 Arkansas and No. 5 Florida State. The Aggies and Sooners did not get to play for the SEC championship that was rained out, but the Aggies likely locked it in regardless with the top-ranked KPI in the country.
CHAMPIONSHIP SCHEDULE: Women's College World Series scores, bracket schedule
No. 6 Texas, No. 7 Tennessee and No. 8 South Carolina close out the top eight teams with the advantage of hosting through supers if they advance. The Gamecocks got the edge for the eighth spot over UCLA, which fell short of the Big Ten championship. The Gamecocks likely won the spot with a stronger strength of schedule than the Bruins.
At No. 10 we have LSU, Clemson at No. 11, Texas Tech at No. 12, Arizona at No. 13, Duke at No. 14, Alabama at No. 15 and for the final, 16th seed, Oregon. Based on metrics and resumes that the committee considers, I’d speculate that Virginia Tech and Stanford were likely in contention for the 16th spot, but the Ducks picked up the last hosting spot.
Last teams in
The last four in are :
- Georgia Tech, Indiana, Northwestern, Washington
And the first four out are:
- BYU, Nevada, North Texas, Purdue
It's definitely disappointing for the Boilermakers, who just went on a huge run in the Big Ten tournament.

Top bracket matchups
There are some fun matchups in the bracket. Ohio State has one of the most powerful offenses going up against Tennessee in their regional with Lady Vol pitcher Karlyn Pickens and company in the circle. LSU and Nebraska are in the same regional with Huskers pitcher Jordy Bahl as one of the best players in the country.
When looking ahead at potential super regional matchups, Texas A&M and Oregon could have a Emiley Kennedy vs. Lyndsey Grein pitchers duel. Elsewhere, Clemson would have to go through Texas for its first-ever trip to the Women's College World Series. Then, Texas Tech vs. Florida State means we would see pitcher NiJaree Canady vs. the FSU lineup. There's so many more good ones, too.
Bracket picks
Now let's get into my bracket picks. I picked the winners of every regional, super regional winners — so teams headed to OKC for the Women’s College World Series — and then the national champion. I encourage everyone to fill out their brackets and make some picks for this years tournament.

| Fayetteville Regional | No. 4 Arkansas |
| Tallahassee Regional | No. 5 Florida State |
| Austin Regional | No. 6 Texas |

| Baton Rouge Regional | No. 10 LSU |
| Clemson Regional | No. 11 Clemson |
| Lubbock Regional | No. 12 Texas Tech |
| Tucson Regional | Ole Miss |
| Durham Regional | No. 14 Duke |
| Tuscaloosa Regional | Virginia Tech |
| Eugene Regional | No. 16 Oregon |
I have the top-ranked Aggies making it out of their regional unscathed and then facing No. 16 Oregon. Stanford could be a tough matchup for the Ducks, but I'm high on Oregon's pitching staff.
I have No. 9 UCLA facing No. 8 South Carolina in a super regional, which is honestly one of my favorite potential super regional matchups — as is No. 5 Florida State vs. No. 12 Texas Tech, where I'm taking NiJaree Canady vs. the Seminole lineup.
This next one was a hard pick, but I wanted to pick some fun upsets. I went with Ole Miss over No. 13 Arizona in that regional. The Rebels are coming off a big-time win in the SEC tournament over Florida and have some big-time players at the plate and in the circle. Ole Miss would face Bri Ellis and No. 4 Arkansas in my bracket in the super regional round.
As we move over to the top right portion of the bracket I have No. 3 Florida taking on No. 14 Duke in a super regional and then No. 11 Clemson making it out of its regional to face No. 6 Texas.
No. 7 Tennessee has a pretty tough regional in my opinion, but I think the Volunteers prevail with Karlyn Pickens in the circle. The Lady Vols will face No. 10 LSU, as I am picking the Tigers to take down Nebraska in their regional.
Finally, in the bottom right of the bracket I have another upset pick with Virginia Tech taking down No. 15 Alabama in that regional. Virginia Tech pitcher Emma Lemley is a seasoned vet in the circle and the Hokies have the hot bat of Cori McMillan, who's in the exclusive 30 single-season home run club. I have the Virginia Tech taking on No. 2 Oklahoma in a super regional.

Champion prediction
Picking a national champion was incredibly difficult. There has been SO much parity this season, and I personally think it's been more than ever. I was pretty torn between Oklahoma, Arkansas and Texas A&M as I wholeheartedly believe any of those teams could win it, along with some other teams as well.
However, I am going with Texas A&M to win it all. The Aggies are the most battle-tested team and have proven success. Texas A&M has the top-ranked KPI and it is 11-5 vs RPI top-10 teams. I am going with the Aggies.
