Weber State entered Friday night's FCS quarterfinals game against James Madison as one of the stingiest third down defenses in the nation (32 percent). But there was nothing the Wildcats could do against JMU receiver Riley Stapleton on a third and six play early in the second quarter.
With the scored tied at 7-7 and the No. 1 Dukes facing a third down at midfield, quarterback Bryan Schor lofted a 50-50 ball down the left sideline in Stapleton's direction. The redshirt sophomore stuck his left hand out, corralled the ball using the Weber State cornerback's shoulder pad as support and somehow held onto possesion with one hand long enough until he was pushed out of bounds.

Stapleton finished with a monster stat line: eight catches, 189 yards and a touchdown. The defending FCS champs survived its quarterfinals scare vs. Weber State on a game-winning field goal with time expiring.
