The DI cross country conference championships kicked off the postseason. Here’s what you need to know from some of the top races.
ACC
- Men’s individual — Virginia’s Gary Martin
- Men’s team — Wake Forest
- Women’s individual — NC State’s Grace Hartman
- Women’s team — Notre Dame
Gary Martin knocked off a talented field to win the ACC title over Parker Wolfe. NC State’s Grace Hartman won her first women’s individual title, keeping the individual crown with NC State. However, the Wolfpack couldn’t defend their team title, only finishing fourth as Notre Dame won the team title. Wake Forest took the men’s title, with five runners in the top 15.
Big Ten
- Men’s individual — Wisconsin’s Bob Liking
- Men’s team — Wisconsin
- Women’s individual — Oregon’s Silan Ayyildiz
- Women’s team — Oregon
Wisconsin’s dominance continued at Big Tens. The Badgers won their seventh straight team title, and Bob Liking won his fourth straight individual title. On the women’s side, Oregon upset Washington thanks to Silan Ayyildiz and Maddy Elmore’s 1-2 finish.

Big 12
- Men’s individual — Oklahoma State’s Brian Musau
- Men’s team — BYU
- Women’s individual — West Virginia’s Ceili McCabe
- Women’s team — BYU
Down goes No. 1! BYU knocked off top-ranked Oklahoma State, with the Cougars finishing 3-7-8-11-12. Oklahoma State’s top-five runners finished 1-6-9-17-19, with Brian Musau pacing the field.
Meanwhile, the BYU women did their part to give the Cougars the team title sweep. West Virginia’s Ceili McCabe won the women’s individual race by 14.3 seconds.

SEC
- Men’s individual — Arkansas’ Patrick Kiprop
- Men’s team — Arkansas
- Women’s individual — Alabama’s Doris Lemngole
- Women’s team — Alabama’s Doris Lemngole
Doris Lemngole set a course record in 18:20.3 to win the women’s individual title, knocking off top challenger Hilda Olemomoi. Lemngole led four runners in the top-20 for the Tide in the conference title win.
In the men’s race Patrick Kiprop led the way as Arkansas went 1-3-5-13-16, holding off a competitive Alabama team that went 2-4-6-19-21.
Other notable championship races
Big Sky
Northern Arizona won the women’s Big Sky title after taking the top six spots. Ali Upshaw won the individual title. The Lumberjacks swept the women’s and men’s races.
Mountain West
Pamela Kosgei followed up her win at Pre-Nationals with a Mountain West individual title. Habtom Samuel won the men’s title as he continues to look like a threat for the national title. The Lobos swept the men’s and women’s races.
