Undefeated college basketball teams in 2017-18

Arizona State Basketball: Romello White | Newcomer Spotlight

And then there were none.

Three college basketball teams entered Saturday, Dec. 30 with perfect records. All three came away with their first losses of the season.

No. 1 Villanova couldn't rally back against hot-shooting Butler while TCU failed to stop Trae Young (39 points) in a one-point defeat. To wrap up the night, No. 3 Arizona State suffered its first setback against in-state rival Arizona in Tucson.

Saturday's craziness means that this will be the first season since 1948-49 where no Division I teams entered January without a loss, per ESPN Stats & Info. The last undefeated team didn't lose last year until Feb. 25 (Gonzaga).
